Community Health Programs
One mobile medical van rotates through Kolkata’s slums and street corners, treating an average of 200+ patients a day. There are close to 18 outdoor slum clinics, catering to thousands of economically deprived patients who would otherwise receive no medical care. We care for 180,000 patients annually for free.
Self-Help Groups and Microcredit
Our economic Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are fully democratic and participatory. Programs are designed to preserve dignity and strengthen capacity in those we serve. We reinforce the realization of their inner wealth, their capacity to harness the powers of their own being, and to triumph over their circumstances, while building a sense of community.
Urban & Rural Education
LDLM is committed to bring the light of education to underprivileged sections of society, thus enriching their lives and strengthening their moral values. Its literacy and value-based education instills the joy of learning in the children it serves.
